Prints@Photobox

I have not been sending money on high streets. I have been spending money online.

-.-|||

Seriously, I have been blogging about online shopping a lot and I am still not done.

This time, I am here with my online shopping experience with Photobox.

Google it after if you like what I write here.

I ordered some prints from Photobox, if you consider 1034 prints as some. XD

They are seriously cheap, I’m telling ya!

This is what I paid:
£51.7 for the 4R prints
£6.99 for delivery

Do your maths.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
They are not even 6p each!!! And they are worth more than every penny I paid.

I placed my order around noon that day, and I received a massage saying that my order had been dispatched by 5pm the same day.

But it did not come the next day as said on their website. I ordered on a Thursday, and it arrived on the Monday. Not that I really mind whether it’s a next day delivery, so I was happy anyway on Monday.

They came in that.

BNF was there just for the fun of comparison, although BNF is not really a good thing to compare it with. Not everyone has seen a BNF.

Tearing open the plastic cover by the courier service, came out two separate approximately A4 sized boxes.

In the boxes, came the prints in pockets.

Stacking everything together, that’s what I get for the 1034 prints. A photo tower of 9 inches.

It’s really impossible to have the 1034 prints all by myself, unless I have not been developing them for like 5 years minimum. This is where sharing of basket comes into the picture. You have to start learning to share your shopping basket, you selfish people XD

Ok, the reason why all the prints can come out so cheap is because the total number of the prints is over 500. For prints over 500, it’s 5p each. For print number below that, they come at 10p each, or 20p, depends. So the more you print, the cheaper your prints become.

Here’s a noob guide on how to make sharing your shopping basket at Photobox easier XD
1. Rename all your files according to how you want the sequence you want them to come to you before you upload as they come to you according to file names.
2. Remember to rename all your files before you upload.
3. Remember to RENAME ALL your files BEFORE YOU UPLOAD.

LOLx.

That’s it basically. Rename your file. It could be a pain, but it could save you lots of time sorting them out later, especially when you share your basket.

This is not an advert.

This is a personal experience from yours truly.

of Fire drills and courier services..

The fire alarm went off this morning. Sigh… it’s the day of the year again. Fire drills. However, this time, instead of the usual 530am, it went off at 720am, so it’s quite ok since I wake up at 730am every day.

But being jolted up by the shrieking alarm, so beh song leh~

I was having a nice dream wei~ bad alarm woke me up from the warm arms of Bear...

I ended up went back to sleep to make up for the 10mins short of sleep due to the freaking alarm. Haha. 10 mins turned into 2 hours.

Anyhow, I am extremely happy these two days.

First, I received a letter from home and the letter was only sent like 4 days before.

So fast de leh~ 4 days inclusive of Saturday and Sunday wor. Macam mana boleh jadi wor.. Dah lah it’s not using post laju. Normal registered snail mail leh… you tell me lah, how often can that happen?

My registered posts from Malaysia usually arrived only after two weeks of sending.

Second, my shipment from Malaysia arrived, and it came waaay ahead of schedule.

I have never received my shipments way ahead of schedule. They usually arrived like cun cun 3 months or 3 months and 1 or 2 weeks. Ok lah, seniors do receive theirs like in one month or two months, but I have never received mine so early mah.

15kg of food. Food makes me hyper.

The box arrived in perfect square. Unlike previous experience, the edges would have been knocked in. Either it’s the box that’s good, or the handling that has gone less rough, either because of improved service, or less business? =P

I am happy.

Pos Malaysia and Royal Mail love me, but only now.

They don’t love me in the past. But they delivered in time.

While I am blessed with good postal service for the time being, I’m so kolien with a girl that I know who is really soi with her courier service.

Ok, I don’t really know her. She is a friend of a friend lah. But I follow her blog.

Her story was her box of stuff from Malaysia was accidentally destroyed here because some idiot misread the number on her shipment. Let’s say the box with the number of 1234 was meant to be destroyed, her box number of 1324 was destroyed instead.

Soi or not? I have no other words to describe this situation except “soi”. You tell me lah, who can be this soi?

Good thing she doesn’t know me nor my blog. If she read this, she’ll flood her dorm room again. Then I’ll start pitying her roommate.

I can really feel her. I would never ever want to be in her shoes. Her books are gone, her certificates are gone. SPM certificate is gone. We can always sit for SPM again as a private candidate if there is really a need. Although it’s a pain lah, we have to do it if that’s really what we have to do. Basic subjects only mah. Credits ok liao, do not have to score straight As like how we have to when we were that age. Just aim for First class degree ok liao. Amboi~ suara besar. But I really do not think SPM certificate is important lah at the time being. Government sector maybe.

Call me ignorant.

How many companies would really want to see your Co-curriculum certs along with your CV? None, I think. Kickass CV and cover letter will do

I don't see the point of sending certificates over, though.

Prove me wrong, please.

The courier company is willing to compensate. It’s their bloody fault anyway. But how to replace all the things which are irreplaceable wor? Give her 1 billion pounds lah. Then she won’t have to work anymore. Smart girl like her can use that 1 billion to generate lots of billions.

Really gan zhiong for her when I read her post. But sit down and think again, there is always a way to go around things.

Wanted to leave her a message on her blog, but she does not know me. Stranger’s message appearing with no real solution might just dig a deeper hole in her tear glands. So, I better just keep quiet and hope the best for her. You tell me loh, what can she do in a situation like this?

But people left messages for her. Glad she has people she knows around her that she can cry with, and strangers on the net to leave her encouragement.

Wonder if I were to blaaaa all my pain on this blog, would I receive the same response from people that know me from this blog, but no in real person? I know I have people around me that can let me cry on their shoulders here. But people from the net, although just小猫两三只… will you guys let me?

I really don’t like afternoon lectures on Friday. These lectures leave me with a free morning, and I’ll just do random stuff instead. I really should be focusing more on my coursework, and put more effort in it, although just one piece at the moment. Haha.

Ciao~

Nando’s Extra Extra Hot stuff

I have no idea when they introduced this sauce, but I have only learnt of it last Friday. The bottle is a lot smaller than their other sauces.

Its spiciness level is just a little bit stronger than their extra hot sauce that has been in existence since who knows when. If I were to rank them, Extra hot will sit on 5 out of 10, while Extra Extra Hot will be 6 of 10. Not really a big excitement for hot stuff lover. But it really is still something.

Anyhooo, good stuff for you, people. If you are a UK student, local or not, and is reading my blog, stop reading and head to…

http://www.winningwembley.com/

Get your free ½ Nandos chicken by filling in your details, and print out the voucher. The voucher might be a little bit hard on your ink cartridge, but free ½ chicken leh. Worth it.

I have no idea when the contest ends, but the voucher will only be valid three days since you filled it in, and only valid Monday to Friday.

Quick!!

You know the one thing that we always do when we were at Nando’s?

… trying to make the perfect cup of Frozen Yogurt.

Alison always is on top of it.

Everyday Minerals 2

Cathy is mineralized!!

(Bear said I should use the word "mineralified". But I prefer "mineralized" Muarhahaha.)

Her sample kit arrived Tuesday. Her order was placed the Saturday, so it was again a prompt delivery *praise*

Anyway, this gal, I tell you, is such a glow addict. Every colour she chose contained sparkles, and she chose every foundation in original glo. So glowie glowie~ lolx.

Foundation: Linen, Light Olive and Medium Deep, all in original glo formulations.
Concealer: Pearl Pick Me Up
Blusher: Wake Up Call
Can see the tiny sample jar is back.

On my wrist from left to right, or bottom to top, whichever way you see it: Pick Me up, Wake up call, Linen, Light Olive, Medium Deep

When I saw the blusher, I thought it was full, very full. whichever way I shook it, however hard I hit the jar, the jar still appear full!!! But actually, this colour is “stickier” than all the other EM that I have seen. The powder stuck all over the jar. I could not shake it off the wall of the jar. Its colour is also very, very intense, so have to be very careful when applying it. Make sure it is only a thin, very thin layer on the blusher brush.

I don’t see the purpose of a pink concealer, really don’t. Making it eyeshadow again, I guess. Hahaha.

Putting everything on Cathy’s face, her face radiated the healthy glow look, very nice de~ Getting everything in that formulation is not bad after all. Good choice wor abuuuuu~

Have you mineralized?? Postage for the sample kit only worked out to be approximately £2.70. Get it fast, and let me know =P I want to see all your colours.

Fancy Japanese Stuff?

Yoohoo~ I am back with more online shopping. Lalalala~

I did so much online shopping lately.

Slap self.

Stoooooooooooop shopping.

But, heh, impossisble.

Anyhooo~ this time, we bought Japanese foodstuff online from japancentre.com. Note the word “we”.

This company is really good. The list of things that they sell is extensive!! From things to eat to things to use, anything Japanese, it’s there.

We (note the word “we” again) bought things from noodles, to curry paste, to tofu, to rice!!! Yea, rice. Japanese rice, though.

Japanese food, of course you can’t forget wasabi!! We also bought miso, instant soup and something that I have not taken before like kelp with fish eggs. Sorry, I am not a big fan of Japanese cuisine, but I love Japanese cuisine. Self contradicting, I know. Lolx.

The vinegar for sushi, and snacks like seaweeds and mini chocolates. Sweets too. Yam noodles and yam cake which Ali crazed about because they have ZERO CALORIES, but she has no idea how to prepare them for consumption -.-|||

The story of figuring out how to use the yam cake was hilarious. But, of course, when the story is written, the haha factors are definitely gone. So, I better save my finger strength.

The total bill came up to £110+. But, that is inclusive of postage. OHHHhhhYESH the postage is the highlight of the whole thing. They charge one flat fee of £4.95 excluding VAT for delivery for order up till 45kg!!! FORTY-FIVE KG leeeeeeeeeeeeh~. That is a looooooooooooooooooooot.

Think if you are buying those things from other places where they charge by kg, the delivery fee would already burn holes in all of your pockets. Also think if you were to take a cab or bus to buy them from Chinatown, or you drive yourself, your transport is also around that or more, and you have to carry 45kg (!!!) back by you and you own kaki-s.

No worried if you order glass stuff too. Their packaging is excellent, but with an extra charge of £1 (excludes VAT). They bubble wrap almost all of their things. Our 750ml sushi seasoning in big glass bottle arrived soundly. So far, we have no complains.

SO, dear all Msian kaki-s in this foreign land who find the place you are staying far away from Chinatown, or you are too lazy, this site is worth a visit. But share you shopping basket, because you definitely cannot and impossible to make your order 45kg yourself. Ask your flatmates, or roommates and all your neighbours now!

This is an unpaid advert from yours truly, mua.

Everyday Minerals

My first online shopping! It has arrived *sing*

Ok, about Everyday Minerals. It is mineral make-ups. The hoooo-haa about mineral makeup is that it contains everything natural and should not have anything extra. That’s why people are so crazy about them now as they are known to take care and protect and heal the skin too other than putting colours on the face.

My first experience with mineral make-ups was when I was modeling for the hair event. They used Bare Escentuals. Since then, I am dying to get myself those mineral make-ups but I could not splurge £85 for a starter kit. £85 is expensive, wookay? I was almost thread thin close in just handing the £85 over. Luckily, my brain was still working and I didn’t. But it has gone down to £45 now. Still expensive but that is another story.

Then, my sis got to know from her friend that Everyday Minerals has this sample kit that is absolutely free *yippee!*, just that there is shipping charge involved. But the shipping fee is nothing compared to the generous amount of powder that I have received. It is as good as having the full size for people like me who am not a heavy make-up user. The shipping fee is like USD 4 or something. Cheap, right? *Lalalala*

The sample set inclusive of 3 foundations, one concealer and one blush. Very generous amount, I must stress again.

The sample set is just gorgeous. They come in good quality jars. Reusable jars, worth the shipping fee.

But the bad thing about online shopping is that I can’t see how the colours are really like, and so you can see, none of the foundation colour really matched my skin.

From left to right: Concealer-Pearl Mint, Blusher- Snooze Bar, Foundation-Sweet Almond in Intensive, Foundation-Light Tan in Matte, Foundation-Tan in Original glo.

Comparing it with the usual foundation that I am using, Light Tan does look a bit close though.

From left to right with the liquids that I have but may not be normally using =P Maybelline Perfect Concealer in Light Beige; Loreal Paris True Match in Nude Ivory which is toooooo light for me; Maybelline Pure Stay in Pure Golden which I think is just right, though still a little pale; Nivea Visage Young Tinted Moisturiser.

I have not used them, like really used them in full make-up mode. But I am wondering, how to use a sparkling green colour as concealer??!! Ok, green is always used to mask redness. The description does say that it could be used to target small blemish other than as a overall face corrector, but I tried and it just look funny. Maybe it is better off just be used all over the face than just spot by spot. Or as eyeshadow.

Tan is overly tanned; I am using it as blusher, so that gives me two blushers. Muarhahahaha. But I could mix it together with Sweet Almond. Light and dark, balance out each other, wouldn't they?

I bought two brushers too. The concealer brush and the baby kabuki. They are excellent. The quality is really good. Just too bad the company has too few choices. I would really really love an eyeliner brush. Those in store here are overly priced *fume*.

I am now considering a second sample set.

Should I, or shouldn’t I?

Edit: I didn't put down the link. Hahahaha.. It's http://www.everydayminerals.com/
For the sample kit, go to "custom kits" under "make-up". If you are considering buying other stuff other than the FREE sample kit, always check their "specials" under "community" as they have discount codes or other offer listed there. Have fun, girls. Or, guys.

Sundie Fresher Fayre~

Looks like “next time” is not that far off after all. Lolx.

Wednesday was Fresher Fayre.

Like usual, crowds!!!!

Nothing great this year. The usual, pizza hut at one end, domino’s at the other end. Free pizzas. But domino’s put up balloons, pizza hut did not put up ballons.

List of clubs, you can find it on the student union site. I didn’t look at every club’s booth. Didn’t bother to.

The pile of flyers you could get from there was like a small hill when you got back from there. Can you imagine how many trees have been cut down just for this??!

Let’s zoom in on a few stuff in that stack.

Like the usual every year, the spatula from Wilkinson. But this year, they only gave one. Satu. Last year, they gave two. Dua. Imagine last year, two per person, and there were 6 of us in a flat, so two multiply by 6 is like 12. TWELVE spatulas!! We couldn’t even finish them even though we were like changing them ohh so often, like once a month. But this year, 1 multiply by 7 is SEVEN. We will be here for 9 months, we are still 2 spatulas short!! But but but, we didn’t throw last year remainder away, so we have just enough. LOLx. Love Wilkison.

Wilkinson also gave out a wall calendar with all the important dates on.

But, February 7? Chinese New Year? Ehhh.. hello? But it’s pretty nice of them to have at least tried to make Chinese New Year a date on a british calendar. And what is a dance like a chicken day and the beginning of donut week? Donald Duck Day is on June 9th and National Badger Day is on June 16. National Kissing Day is on July 6th, people. LOLx. Nothing really interesting is on from today till like after Christmas.

Moving on, things from the nightspots around here.

Reflex bar has this comic thing on. I’m really pity the girls promoting this cox they were dressed in ninja turtle thing-ie, and they looked awful in those, and other bars were like hot pants and stuff. They were the worst dresser of all. But couldn’t blame them, they were having a comic theme after all.

A spank bat from varsity bar. So kinky. Hahahaha. Who wants this? I have nobody to use it on now at the moment xD

The yucky candies from Liquid. In the bin. I didn’t even know they were in the bag untill Martin was like asking what’s in the bag. I reached in and thought I had touched a human ear or something. It would be a lot better if it had been human ears. Fake ones lah, okay. At least I could use that on Halloween. These sweets, are just plain yucky. Not that I have eaten any of them. They are more gross than the Halloween Lucky Dip at Gala. Eeewww~

The other candies this year was not even one handful. Stopping at a booth and grab is just not my thing. I feel that at least we should talk a bit and grab, and well, talking is not my thing either.

I liked these smillies. But too bad the poster was crashed a bit and I don’t like it anymore. You-Student is some sort of a Facebook like thing.

The cotton bag I got from signing up for the public library. I don’t even know there’s one around here. Well, I know there’s one near Sunderland Royal and that’s like 10 minutes walk away. But I didn’t know that there’s one more which is like 5 minutes walk away too.

A little palm size book I received after signing up for the public library. It’s about a man finding his wife committed suicide and things that he did to cope and recover, be a single dad and stuff. There’s a price at the back of the book. It’s 1pound. Haha.

Okay, this coaster. Is there any other picture other than the two side profiles sticking together at their scalps? You know like how some pictures when you turn it the other way you see another picture? I can’t see anything else when I turned it. Well, there is like a torso of a fat lady without the head but with very fat butt cheeks. Is that it? I don’t know where I got this coaster from. I think it should be the library too. Nevermind.

From Vodafone, I don’t know what that red thing is for. But the other one is a phone charm, or I am using it as a key chain. Doesn’t matter. I love the rainbow colour thing.

The yellow guy.

I have no idea where this came from too. He is sooooooooooooo cute. I stuck it on the window and he stuck himself there, although just for a while. I guess it’s not supposed to be stuck on somewhere. Haha.

He is soooooooooo stretchy.

Stretch…

Streeeeeeeeeeetch..

Streeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeetch..

Hello.. haha.

I bet the most expensive thing I got from the Fresher Fayre is this hoodie. It’s already a S, and it still rest on my mid thigh -.-|||

The queue for it was like soooooooooooooooooooooooo long when I finally found out where they were giving it out. Vita took two. The queue wasn’t long when he was there and he could line up again. I wanted two tooooooooooooooooooooooooo! But the queue was toooooooooooooooooooooooooooo long. The queue ran across the whole room when it was finally my turn to take one, wookay? I didn’t have the strength to line up again for another one. Soooooooo sad. And slap myself for didn’t even notice the queue at the beginning.

I have such bad luck when it comes to free stuff *pout*

The gang was having this plan to go egypt this chirstmas. Ok, egypt is good to go during then, but i'll pass although I would luuuuuv~ to go. I want to ride on camel, see the pyramids and smell the mummy. Hahaha. Not really smell lah~.

I have other priorities. I have a UK driving lesson and a US trip to save up for. Hiak hiak hiak~ Unless there's someone who can tell me how to convert my msia driving licence to a UK one legally, and to drive here legally, I don't see myself doing any travelling soon.
